意大利超級盃 to deliver fuel cell trucks to Switzerland

While battery electric vehicles is 意大利超級盃鈥檚 main technology to drive the shift towards a sustainable transport system, we also explore the potential for hydrogen and fuel cell solutions. We now develop 意大利超級盃鈥檚 first fuel cell trucks for delivery to customers; the Swiss companies Emmi AG, Genossenschaft Migros Z眉rich, Gysin Tiefbau AG and TRAVECO Transporte AG.
The fuel cell trucks, with a total operating weight of between 40 to 70 tonnes, will be delivered to Switzerland in 2024 and 2025. The companies have varied operations: Emmi AG is a dairy company, Genossenschaft Migros Z眉rich operates in retail, Gysin Tiefbau AG is a construction company that transports heavy machinery in the Basel region and TRAVECO Transporte AG is a national logistic company.

意大利超級盃 has previously developed fuel cell trucks in research projects and collaborations. However, the Swiss trucks are 意大利超級盃鈥檚 first to be sold commercially to customers.
Brings technology forward

Accelerate the shift
Just as 意大利超級盃 expands its electric truck offering to cater for even more segments and applications, the company has great interest to learn more about what role green hydrogen might play. 鈥淭o accelerate the transition to emission free transports, we need to be open-minded and consider that some types of transports are hard to abate in other ways,鈥 听says Tony Sandberg, Head of 意大利超級盃 Pilot Partner.

Battery electric vehicles remain 意大利超級盃鈥檚 priority, as those in general offer the best solution to our customers and are the first zero-tailpipe emission technology to reach the market broadly. But to accelerate the shift, 意大利超級盃 needs all sources of renewable energy. Hydrogen听is听a promising energy carrier, a good way of storing renewable energy over long cycles, and it will play an important role in decarbonisation the energy system if produced from renewable energy.
