Òâ´óÀû³¬¼‰° oil
If your engine could choose
Interacting with every moving part of the engine, oil is a critical component - playing a vital role in the environmental impact, performance and economy of your Òâ´óÀû³¬¼‰° engine. And as modern, high-tech engines increasingly feature innovative materials and more-exacting tolerances, the need for a tailored, optimized oil blend for each engine family becomes more important than ever. That’s why for more than 20 years, Òâ´óÀû³¬¼‰° has developed, field tested, engineered and specified oil blends for each of its engine families.Ìý
Less fuel
Using Òâ´óÀû³¬¼‰° approved oil versus general market oils results in improved fuel economy and therefore reduced fuel costs – better for your economy and the environment.
More uptime
Depending on the vehicle application and usage, service intervals can be significantly extended, giving you more time on the road.
Environmental benefits
A sustainable win-win; improved fuel economy, and fewer oil changes reduce your environmental impact.
Peace of mind
Protect your investment in a premium engine with a premium oil. You can rely on Òâ´óÀû³¬¼‰° Oils; they are developed, tested and proven for service intervals up to 155,000 km. There is no better protection for your Òâ´óÀû³¬¼‰° engine than Òâ´óÀû³¬¼‰° Oil.
We engineer the oil - as we would any other component
Òâ´óÀû³¬¼‰° Oil is engineered to deliver the best possible performance, economy and protection for your engine. But what is the science behind producing an oil that matches the exact requirements of your engine? Òâ´óÀû³¬¼‰° ’s Mattias Berger, Senior Technical Manager explains how oil blends differ and what makes Òâ´óÀû³¬¼‰° Oil the best choice for a Òâ´óÀû³¬¼‰° Engine.
SCANIA OILS - ENGINEERED TO DELIVER
All Òâ´óÀû³¬¼‰° Oil is engineered to deliver maximum performance in terms of protection, fuel economy and environmental impact. And our latest generation LDF-4 oil takes that performance to a new level – significantly reducing fuel consumption over LDF-3 10W-40, and doubling the change interval for the particulate filter.
CHOOSING THE PERFECT OIL FOR YOUR SCANIA ENGINE
SCANIA OIL E7 15W-40
- Òâ´óÀû³¬¼‰° Oil E7 is developed for markets requesting ACEA E7-quality oil – Òâ´óÀû³¬¼‰° Oil E7 meets Òâ´óÀû³¬¼‰° ´s minimum oil quality requirements.
- Valid for normal oil drain intervals.
- Valid for inline as well as V8 engines
- Not suitable for engines with after-treatment systems.
SCANIA OIL BEO-2
- Òâ´óÀû³¬¼‰° Oil BEO-2 is specially developed for the Òâ´óÀû³¬¼‰° ED95 bioethanol engine.
- It provides extended drain intervals and is superior in terms of performance with regard to engine service life.
SCANIA OIL LDF-3 10W-40
- Òâ´óÀû³¬¼‰° Oil LDF-3 10W-40 is developed to provide the best total operating economy for Òâ´óÀû³¬¼‰° Euro V engines (or older) and is also valid for Òâ´óÀû³¬¼‰° Euro VI engines with an after-treatment system.
- Allows extended oil drain intervals.
- Valid for inline as well as V8 engines.
- Works just as well with poor quality fuel (high sulphur content).
SCANIA OIL LDF-4
- Òâ´óÀû³¬¼‰° Oil LDF-4 is specially developed to provide best total operating economy for Òâ´óÀû³¬¼‰° Euro VI engines.
- Valid for CNG and LNG engines.
- Allows extended oil drain intervals.
- Allows extended particulate filter change intervals (double compared with Òâ´óÀû³¬¼‰° Oil LDF-3).
- Òâ´óÀû³¬¼‰° Oil LDF-4 is a low viscosity oil that reduces fuel consumption, lowering fuel costs and environmental impact.
- Must be used with high quality fuel; max 10ppm sulphur.

Did you know
- Òâ´óÀû³¬¼‰° rigorously field tests all oil blends on Òâ´óÀû³¬¼‰° engines – the only manufacturer to do so.
- Òâ´óÀû³¬¼‰° Oil composition is unique – each blend is designed for each engine family.
- Òâ´óÀû³¬¼‰° Oil minimizes aftertreatment impact, oil and fuel consumption.
- Òâ´óÀû³¬¼‰° Oil specifications build on The European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA, www.acea.be) ACEA E9 specifications for highly rated diesel engines meeting Euro 1 through 6 emission requirements.
- Suitable for engines with or without particulate filters, and for most engines fitted with SCR NOx reduction systems.
- LDF stands for Long Drain Field Test which means that we test the oils and engines for 155,000 km in long haulage instead of 60,000 km, before draining it and examining the engine parts.
- Òâ´óÀû³¬¼‰° LDF-4 roughly doubles the change interval on the DPF (exhaust particulate filer).
SUB-OPTIMAL OIL = SUB-OPTIMAL PERFORMANCE
- Increased oil consumption.
- Increased tappet and roller wear.
- Increased likelihood of oil acidification leading to soft metal corrosion and piston deposits.
- Increased engine sludge with potential to block filters and even oilways.
- Reduced lubrication in cold starts, increasing wear.
- Increased fuel consumption caused by wrong viscosity.
