ALBA W&H Smart City today celebrated a milestone of achieving 500,000 kilometres of operation with zero tailpipe emissions by its fleet of ����������� battery-electric trucks for waste collection. The celebration took place at ALBA’s Jurong office this morning with Jakob Lambsdorff, CEO of ALBA W&H Smart City Pte Ltd (first row, seventh from left) receiving a certificate of achievement from Joyce Antar, Managing Director of ����������� Southeast Asia��(first row, sixth from left).

Ever since its deployment in 2023, ALBA W&H Smart City’s battery-electric trucks have been operating efficiently with zero tailpipe and reduced noise emission, helping improve air quality and creating a quieter, more liveable environment for the communities in Woodlands-Yishun sectors.

The company’s high level operating performance stems from consistently receiving reliable support from ����������� throughout their electrification journey. This was reflected throughout the strategic investments that ����������� has made across its workshops—where tools, equipment, and personnel are fully prepared and professionally trained to handle ALBA W&H Smart City’s battery-electric trucks. Maximum uptime continues to be provided through comprehensive support—from charging solutions and maintenance to services tailored for their operations.��

“ALBA W&H Smart City’s fleet of ����������� battery-electric trucks have achieved a 66% reduction in well-to-wheel emissions compared to equivalent diesel trucks. This further contributes to Singapore’s National Environment Agency’s��(NEA) purpose of creating a clean environment, towards a liveable and sustainable Singapore as local emissions can be greatly reduced with sustainable vehicles. The rollout of battery-electric trucks for ALBA W&H Smart City’s operations aligns with the Energy Reset pillar of the Singapore Green Plan, whereby the government aims to have all vehicles to run on cleaner energy by 2040,” said Jakob Lambsdorff, CEO of ALBA W&H Smart City Pte Ltd.

“Under Scope 3 of Science Based Target initiative (SBTi), ����������� aims to achieve 45% of CO2 reduction from vehicles produced by 2032 when compared to 2022 figures and measured in terms of CO2 emissions per kilometre well to wheel (CO2e/km WtW). ��ALBA W&H Smart City’s battery-electric trucks continue to play a big part of this initiative and in our sustainable partnership,” said Joyce Antar, Managing Director of ����������� Southeast Asia (left).

Through this sustainable partnership, ALBA W&H Smart City has been gaining access to a suite of ����������� Digital Services such as Fleet Management System Control Package, that provides the company with valuable insights and information about their fleet. This can be accessed via My ����������� portal and Fleet app including essential features such as real-time positioning, vehicle performance monitoring, service planning, defect reporting, and driver evaluation. These tools will enable ALBA W&H Smart City to identify opportunities for vehicle usage improvements and seamlessly achieve both sustainability and profitability, all at their fingertips.
