Stoneleigh Park, UK, 4 June 2024: ����������� UK steals the limelight at Road Transport Expo as a trio of trucks make their UK premiere.

��

With a large presence both inside and outside, ����������� is focusing its attendance on decarbonisation and celebrating its 60^th anniversary in the UK.

��

This is the only opportunity we get to promote our full range of vehicles, services and support to a mixture of customers and prospects. Which is why we’ve taken an all-encompassing approach this year.

“Of course, it’s important to acknowledge our 60^th anniversary. However, the pressures to decarbonise and make positive change is growing in our industry. To be able to showcase that ����������� UK and our people are here and willing to help any business on their transitional journey is crucial.”

Decarbonisation at your fingertips:

Decarbonisation is the core theme on the inside stand, with ����������� showcasing its battery electric truck for regional operations for the first time in the UK.

��

Available in both rigid and tractor unit forms, this is the first vehicle to feature �����������’s new high-density Northvolt batteries built at its state-of-the-art battery assembly facility in Södertälje, Sweden.

��

The truck is powered by a trio of electric motors and a six-speed automatic gearbox, which produces either 400kW (536hp) or 450kW (603hp) of continuous power. While a total gross battery capacity of 624kWh – gives it a range of up to 350km at a gross vehicle weight of 40 tonnes, or 250km at 64 tonnes.

Also making its first appearance in the UK is �����������’s latest generation 13-litre biogas engine. Available in two power outputs: 410hp and 460hp, the vehicle on display uses the latter, and is paired with the G25 gearbox and R756 rear axle used on the latest generation diesel SUPER powertrain. In testing, this combination has proven that operators could see up to a 5% fuel saving on long-haul operations.

It also features a new compressed gas tank option. With two large tanks installed behind the cab – it allows a total of 1,224 litres of compressed gas to be stored, culminating in the longest range ever offered by ����������� in the UK.

This truck is also debuting Smart Dash. This new central hub offers improved driver interaction with �����������’s digital ecosystem. Behind the wheel is a new 12.3” digital Driver Display screen, while a large new 12.9” HD touchscreen Centre Information Display (CID) dominates the cabin, giving the driver all the functionality and tools, they need at their fingertips.

����������� is also displaying its complete support and services offering, and how it can be a customer’s Trusted Advisor along their decarbonisation journey.

It’s time to celebrate – 60 years of ����������� in the UK

��

Outside, ����������� has a mix of the new and the old on display – from the latest generation SUPER 560 S, through to the first �����������s to grace the UK roads back in the 1960s – in the shape of a �����������-Vabis LB76 (1966) and a LB110 (1968).

��

As a tribute to ����������� UK’s 60^th, there are some special customer vehicles on the stand, from the UK’s first R Series Topline V8 (J.W.Bird 2004) and Coles & Sons’ latest custom 770 S V8 to Charles Russell’s freshly restored 3-Series Streamline, which was used by the Benetton Formula 1 team in 1994.

The Svempa Frost Fire also makes its UK debut too. This one-of-a-kind show truck is one of Sven Erik Bergendahl's iconic creations, which he developed in collaboration with �����������.

��

Featuring an icy blue and fiery orange custom paintwork, bespoke bodywork, and an illuminated engine bay, this showstopper is based on a V8, and includes a number of deft touches and signature styling elements that set it apart from any other ����������� V8 on the road.
