Rob has taken a step into a new role after an outstanding 10 years as Northampton鈥檚 branch manager! But where did it all begin?
听
Before joining TruckEast, Rob managed butchers over the Northamptonshire area but being mechanically minded with 10+ years of sales experience, he decided to take a leap of faith into the commercial industry鈥 An opportunity came about for a van parts sales role in 1998 where he began selling parts from the van in the surrounding areas of Milton Keynes for 6 months, until he then started training as a parts advisor.听
听
In 2005 Rob was promoted to Parts Supervisor and 2012 Regional Parts Supervisor based in Milton Keynes but overseeing 4 locations. Just 3 years later Rob became branch manager at Northampton and has been there up until recently where he鈥檚 taken on a new exciting role in Sales!听
听
During the 27 years he has been with us, he鈥檚 become a well-known figure in the area, but did you know that鈥

Rob spent 28 years being an on-call firefighter!听
听
鈥楪rowing up, I watched my grandad and cousins involved heavily with firefighting and I was always inspired by the job! I wanted to give back to the community which is why I would work at TruckEast during the daytime and then on call for them in the evenings.鈥櫶
听
When he isn鈥檛 out fighting fires, Rob enjoys relaxing with his family, cooking (specifically a T-Bone steak) and riding and maintaining his motorbikes! Since the age of 16 Rob has always had a passion for bikes, you might even catch him on it on his way into work.
听
Rob also has a major passion for fishing! And out of all the subjects to write a book on, this would be his choice.
鈥淚 could write a book on fishing! My love for the activity came from when I would go sea fishing off the pier in the summer holidays with my grandad as a child. Ever since then, it has been one of my favourite activities, I even go every year on my birthday! No matter the weather, you can always catch me fishing by a river or canal enjoying the peace and quiet with my dog.鈥
We asked Rob what he is most looking forward to in his new position鈥μ
听
鈥業鈥檝e been in the truck industry now for most of my career, and I鈥檓 excited for this new challenge 鈥 being in a completely different department. Over the years at Northampton, I鈥檝e worked closely with many customers and I鈥檓 excited to continue to develop those relationships from a different side of the business as well as building and nurturing new relationships across the rest of the region.鈥
